Our Office Now Accepts CDCP (Canadian Dental Care Plan): Enhancing Access to Quality Dental Care

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a national program. It helps families across Canada with low to middle incomes get dental care. The plan covers many dental services. This means more Canadians can get the oral care they need without the money worry. It can help most if you or your family have skipped dental care in the past because of cost.

The CDCP covers many key dental services, such as:

• Routine Check-ups and Cleanings: Regular exams and cleanings keep your mouth healthy. They help prevent problems like cavities and gum disease.
• X-rays: These pictures help us find dental problems that you cannot see during a routine exam.
• Fillings: These treat cavities and tooth decay. They keep your teeth strong and healthy.
• Extractions: This means taking out teeth that are damaged, decayed, or crowding other teeth.
• Root Canals: This treats infected or damaged teeth to save them from being taken out.
• Crowns and Bridges: These repair and replace damaged or missing teeth.
• Dentures: These are partial or full sets of false teeth for people who have lost many teeth.
• Preventive Care: This includes fluoride treatments, sealants, and other steps that protect your teeth and gums.

The CDCP will pay back part of the cost of your treatment. It may not pay the full amount. We want you to know this ahead of time. You will pay extra charges to your dental office directly if:

• your adjusted family net income is between $70,000 and $89,999
• the cost of your oral health care services is more than what the CDCP will pay back for them, or
• you and your oral health provider agree on services that the CDCP does not cover

It is a fair question to ask. The ODA Ontario Fee Guide and the CDCP Fee Guide list different prices. You will be responsible for the difference. Your cost is the ODA Ontario Fee Guide cost minus the CDCP Fee Guide cost.

Here is an example. Say a procedure costs $120 on the ODA Ontario Fee Guide. It costs $100 on the CDCP Fee Guide. The CDCP benefits cover it at 80%. Then your cost would be $40:

• 80% of $100 = $80
• $120 - $80 = $40
